Sažetak
The efficiency of the information system (IS) greatly depends on the age, education and information and communications technology (ICT) skills of users. The aim of this study is to show the degree of the physicians, nurses, and administrators’ competence to use ICT and their evaluation of the existing IS in clinical department of county hospital. After first year of its implementation, 29 IS users created 9.515 medical records, out of whom 64% are employed in the outpatient department. The physicians, who mostly use of the IS, were the most satisfied by the IS implementation. Although administrative staff is likely to think that computers slow down the process of work, the computer skills of these 5 employees have improved by 50% in comparison with that at the beginning of computerisation. The availability and multiple usage of medical information were main advantages, and insufficient ICT training and the lack of connection with other hospital departments to make the flow of electronic medical records easier were disadvantages of IS.
