Sažetak
The proliferation of virtual communities formed around small regional units is evident in Croatia at the beggining of the 2020-is. This research tackles the example of one among them: “Zagorje, Digital Homeland”, aiming to establish a virtual community of people originating in a village of Jakovlje, dislocated all over the world. Using the method of case study, a content analysis of the website and Facebook profile is done, along with in-depth interviews with the founder and a number of users, the goal of the research is to show in which ways a global virtual community based on a local background, as an amalgam of traditional and modern identity patterns, can create a new power of identity and help revitalization of a real community.
