Sažetak
Stroke is a great public health problem. Besides being one of the greatest mortality rate factors, its consequences have also financial repercussions due to care needed. By defining causes, available therapy, our own knowledge is broadened to define the best possible treatment which can affect and better stroke consequences. The aim of this paper is to define the connections between thrombolytic therapy on life quality of the patients after stroke, what quality of life parameters are affected and how nursing care can help. The data was collected via questionnaire that was given to 36 patients which were divided in two groups. All patients had history of ischemic stroke confirmed clinically and by CT. First group of patients was group of patients who received thrombolytic therapy and control group did not. The reason for control group not having thrombolysis was that patients in it did not meet criteria for it. We used a t-test for comparing the two groups. The results showed that group who had thrombolysis had better functional outcome although in this research statistically significant difference was not met. The results also showed the great negative consequences that stroke puts on the patients quality of life, care needed and nursing care for the patient. Thus, increased nursing care can help to alleviate negative consequences.
