Sažetak
Abstract The purpose of this paper was to answer the following key-question: To what extend vocational education related to rural development in Croatia meets basic learning needs of the population in rural areas and contribute to rural development? The structure of this documents is based on the definition of the three key concepts contained in the former question. The starting position for rural population is lower in general in quality and access. This fact refers also to education. Starting with lacks of preschool education, most of the rural population (children) starts education attending compulsory education, but not the following levels of education because of lower access and quality of education institutions. Furthermore these persons cannot compete on the job market either not enter modern farming.
