Sažetak
The aim of this study is to evaluate some physiological characteristics important for cross-country skiing on a sample of top Croatian malecc-skiers in the laboratory and to compare the results with the data presented in literature. Body composition determined by means of bioelectrical impedance and morphological characteristics were also evaluated. omparing the morphological characteristics and body composition of Croatian skiers with the results obtained incc-skiers from other countries it can be concluded that there is a certain point of similarity. But most authors agree that htere is no "perfect" body type in this sport. The skiers vary greatly in their body heights and weights even at top levels. Cc-skiing appears to require a high degree of cardiorespiratory fitness. This is shown through the high values of absolute and relative oxygen uptake, as well as oxygen pulse and heart volume working quotient.
