Sažetak
2, 4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) is widely used in plant cell culture as growth regulating substance, but also in agriculture as herbicide (higher concentrations). The effect of 2, 4-D on photosynthetic pigments content in dark-grown spruce seedlings was studied. seedlings were grown for 16 days in darkness at room temperature in Petri dishes moistured with tap water, 4, 5, 45 and 450 μm 2, 4-D, respectively. Photosynthetic pigments were extracted from cotyledons with ice-cold absolute acetone and determined spectrophotometrically. The lowest concentration (4, 5 μm) of 2, 4-D induced both, chlorophyll and carotenoids biosynthesis relatively to tap water treatment. There were no statistically significant differences for all measured parameters between tap water and 45 μm 2, 4-D treatments. herbicidal concentration of 2, 4-D (450 μm) induced declining of chlorophyll content, while carotenoids were not significantly influenced. Obtained results will be filled up with analysis of chloroplasts ultrastructure.
