Sažetak
After acquiring the independence and sovereignty at the beginning of the 90-ties there were pretty significant and extensive activities initiated in the Republic of Croatia in the field of geodetic and surveying works at the state level. The activities included reorganisation of state bodies and institutions competent for carrying out geodetic and surveying activity of state interest, creating new law and ordinance basis, evaluating and using the inherited geodetic basis of the former state (fundamental state networks, geodetic datums, cartographic and geodetic documentation etc.) and also carrying out new geodetic works at the state level. In this paper foundation of the Croatian Geodetic Institute is presented with different aspects of internal organization, responsibilities, managing bodies, financing, relations to State Geodetic Administration, etc.
