Sažetak
First Bulgarian immigrants arrived on the territory of today's Croatia when they fled today's Bulgaria because of the Ottomans but that migration has not been researched well by historians. The migrations that followed have been studied well, and they are systematized into 5 phases. 1. First was taking place in the second half of the 19th century, 2. Second at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, 3. Third between the First and Second World Wars, 4. Fourth during the Second World War, 5. Fifth from the end of the Second World War to 1980s when immigration into Croatia started to stagnate. The last phase, which is currently underway, can be named the sixth. The authors’ intention with this work is to make an attribution to studies of Bulgarian-Croatian relations, which is quite a marginalized theme in contemporary Croatian scientific opus. They tried to present Jadranka Grbić Jakopović’s historical scheme of types of migrations of Bulgarians to Croatia and made an attempt to more clearly present and document the last phase with personal experiences of today’s two most prominent Bulgarians in Croatia: Raško Ivanov and Diana Glasnova.
