Sažetak
The aim of this project by the UIS Glacier, Firn, and Ice Caves Commission is to conduct morphological, climatic and glaciological surveys in the ice-hosting caves in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region (Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Lebanon and Turkey) in order to understand the genesis of the cave glaciers and the mechanisms linking their physical, chemical and dynamical characteristics with climatic conditions outside caves as a tool for reconstructing past climate characteristics in the study region.
