Sažetak
Life in the Romani community can objectively be described only by the members of that community, and it is difficult to be perceived from any other perspective. Unpropitious socioeconomic position of the Romani is caused by low levels of education, poverty, and other negative factors that create a closed circle of social exclusion from which Romani cannot come out without support. This paper presents statistical data on the education of members of the Romani national minority, and qualitative research has been conducted as well by interviewing Romani women on their education. The results show there is the necessity for raising awareness about the importance of education for members of the Romani national minority, regardless of gender.
