Sažetak
This paper presents a thorough study of the artifacts from the Zagreb mummy’s inventory, including the pertaining cartonnage, jewelry, papyrus, and marked textile strips left from the mummification preparation. The investigations were also carried out on one of the most important exhibits from the Archaeological museum in Zagreb, the Liber linteus Zagrabiensis (The linen book of Zagreb), and the results were compared. For this purpose, black and red pigments of the linen book, black pigments of papyrus and marked strips, and pigments palette of the cartonnage and jewelry were investigated using several analytical methods, such as X-ray fluorescence analysis, Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, colorimetry, and an ion beam microprobe. The goal was to explain elemental and molecular composition of original pigments, define stoichiometry and thickness of pigment layers, identify layers of cartonnage preparation, layers of pigments sedimentation and deterioration, as well as the growth of impurities over the original layers
