Sažetak
Objectives: Comparison of difficulties in emotion regulation within the group of psychiatric patients who attended psychodrama psychotherapy group (at the beginning and at the end of their treatment), and between the group of patients and the control group was performed in order to establish possible differences between groups and measurements. Thus, possible characteristics of a therapeutic process could also be gathered. Methods: Study comprised a group of psychiatric patients (neurotic, anxious, depressed, with personality disorders, bipolar disorder or after a first psychotic episode) who attended psychodrama psychotherapy group (N=25), and the control group (N=25). We have used Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale (DERS ; Gratz & Roemer, 2004). According to DERS effective emotion regulation consists of the following four domains: identification and understanding of emotions, acceptance of emotions, the ability to continue to purse goal-directed behavior and inhibit impulsive behaviors when experiencing negative emotions, and perceived access to effective emotion regulation strategies (Bardeen et al., 2016). First measurement of patients` difficulties in emotion regulation was at the beginning of a 12-weeks psychotherapeutic treatment (including psychodrama), and second measurement at the end. We also gathered the results in a control group. Then, we performed a series of t-tests to establish possible differences between the two measurements in a group of patients and between the group of patients and the control group. Results/Conclusions: Importance of the study is in its attempt to measure the therapeutic process including psychodrama. Differences between groups and measurements will be discussed in the framework of psychotherapy, considering suggestions for its further improvement.
