Sažetak
His paper includes an analysis of the process of management over the liberalization of the sugar market in the European Union with specific insights on the internal and world market of sugar as well as the impact on the sugar industry in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The world sugar market has been briefly historicaly reviewed, as well as the aspect of supply and demand and price aspect while the current state of the sector within the European Union is as well briefly reviewed. The sugar market in the European Union departs from the mechanisms of protection of extremely closed internal market and preferential import in the European Union to the understanding of the necessity of the sugar market reform with far-reaching effects on the decrease of sugar production as well as the sugar-beet fields and decrease of sugar export from the European Union. The 2006 reform introduced a lot of changes in the sugar sector, thus changing an overall view of the sugar market and industry in the European Union. This paper depicts current states of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina sugar sectors and assesses the effects of before mentioned changes on the Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina sugar industries.
