Sažetak
Background: Infographics are a communication tool used in the digital environment that can present information, data or knowledge in an easy and understandable way to a wider audience. The aim of this study was to present infographics as a form of communication and to describe and outline its possibilities in the field of health protection and safety at work. Methods: The research analyses available infographics of leading institutions in occupational health in relation to Croatia, the EU and the World. Results: Visualization of key information is an accustomed concept in the field of health protection and safety at work with infographics being a recognizable form of communication and an important part of digital health. However, only a small number of infographics are used in Croatia. The topics of infographics published in Croatia were about safety at construction sites and active ageing. In the EU, the topics found were stress management, safety and health at work for women and elderly. Infographics from the world addressed safety at work, road safety ; safety in high-risk industries such as processing industry, construction, healthcare and service industry ; and safety at work for young workers. Discussion: Visualization of key statistical data in the style of infographics enables occupational health professionals to educate employers and workers. Infographics are excellent tools for communicating important topics and are more likely to drive action and change behaviour. Conclusions: It is important to raise awareness among Croatian occupational health experts on the importance of infographics as a form of communication because it can be used to present important information and directions in an easily understandable and universal way to various audiences.
