Sažetak
In this paper the solid particle erosion wear of slip cast monolithic alumina (Al2O3) and zirconia-alumina (Al2O3–t-ZrO2) composite ceramics was investigated. The amount of t-ZrO2 in composite Al2O3–t-ZrO2 ceramics was 1 wt. % and 10 wt. %. The erosive wear behaviour was studied at 90° impact angles of SiC erodent. Erosion mechanisms of all prepared ceramic samples were evaluated by measuring the surface roughness parameters (Ra, Rz, Rmax), weight loss and analysis of surface morphology. Obtained results showed that tribological properties of monolithic Al2O3 can be improved with the addition of t-ZrO2. It was found that erosion resistance increases with the increasing amount of t-ZrO2 in the composite Al2O3–t-ZrO2 ceramics.
