Sažetak
Unemployment (and financial dependency as its consequence) can theoretically undermine different aspects of well-being, although specific contexts (e.g., more collectivistic cultures) could weaken its negative effects. In line with these presumptions, we tested the relationship between finding a job and satisfaction with different domains of well-being in a Croatian sample (n = 112) from the second and third wave of the CRO-WELL longitudinal study. After controlling for satisfaction in specific domains during the previous wave, age (youth vs. adults) and gender, we found that participants who got employed were more satisfied with their friendships and security in future compared to those who remained unemployed. Moreover, a three-way interaction was found between age group, employment and gender in prediction of satisfaction with personal achievements, with adult men who got employed exhibiting highest positive change and young women who remained unemployed experiencing strongest negative change.
