Sažetak
My aim in this essay is to provide a framework within which we can explain how literary works elicit the sense of beauty. While it might not seem contentious to claim that a certain literary work is beautiful from the perspective of individual experience, our contemporary aesthetic theories do not give us much to go on if we want to explain the relation between beauty and literature. The tension between our phenomenological experience of finding certain literary works beautiful, and our aesthetic inability to properly explicate what this beauty consists in, arises primarily from our notion of aesthetics.
