Sažetak
The morphological appearance of the nasal septal deformities based exclusively on the author’s subjective impression and usually described literally, leads directly to the confusion and may also diminish the real value of any attempts to standardize septal nose deformities. It is obvious that a terminological mess consisted of terms like “deviation”, “ deformity”, “cartilaginous deviation”, “bony deviation” etc. seeks for the standardization. Certainly, this will be solved only after accepting one gold standard of septal deformities classification. Mladina has systematized septal deformities more than 20 years ago. He precisely defines the clinical findings of the nasal septum in a seven different types. The relatively simple but absolutely user friendly classification of nasal septal deformities has great impact on the understanding of sino-nasal pathophysiology.
