Sažetak
Educational policies have an important role to play in terms of ensuring an adequate knowledge and attitude towards occupational health and safety for the professionals, workforce, managers and young generations. Influencing, as a consequence, the positive behavioral change and improved culture of prevention in the target groups towards health and safety at work. All this is crucial for achieving standards of health and safety at work. It is well known that the culture of basic positive attitude towards prevention develops from a young age, thus making the issue of mainstreaming OSH into education of vital importance. Currently, many countries are implementing a whole-school approach. This is a holistic, diagonal approach that merges together education, occupational health and safety, public health and sustainable development. Perhaps, this is the only possible way of preserving health of future generations and, at the same time, one of the greatest challenges we are dealing with, today. While waiting for the whole –school approach to be adequately implemented in years to come, we build on existent knowledge infrastructure. In this regard, at the present, the education of primary care workers and their empowerment in occupational health and safety becomes far more important on the global scale. Tracking the record of this journey, we recognize there is always the need of “getting better all the time” to cover the existing needs for education of various groups of individuals involved in occupational health and safety.
