Sažetak
The paper presents results of availability performance analysis of WDM transmission network. Availability model of WDM network, based on complex logical expressions for transport entities is presented. Logical expressions are based on transport entities from the logical hierarchy used for communication and protection/restoration mechanism description. A simple procedure based on shortest path routing is used to develop assignment of transport entities onto physical network components. In availability calculation, both analytical and simulation methods were used, and their performance in both time and space complexity compared. Passive all-optical WDM networks (PWN) as well as automatically switched all-optical WDM network (ASWN) in conjunction with different protection and restoration schemes are considered. As an example, topologies developed within COST 266 project were used.
