Sažetak
Results of scientific research are published for the scientific community so that it may be able to verify them and to add them to internatioal data basses. This knowledge is in turn used for further research, development and general advanoment. This applies, without restriction, to result of fundamental research and to those that have not been withheld by the financiers. On the other hand, results of applied research can quite often have commercial potential and publication may be prohibited. P. Suber has written a detailed account of events preceding the most recent initiatives within the open access (OA) movement. OA for users means free accessible integral e-text. It mail goal is: maximal accessibility to scientific information for its maximal impactm i-e. usefulness for the scientufic community. It can be expected that the OA archiving will be implemented with less resistence and that the number of instituional repositories will constantly rise.
