Sažetak
Transcranial Doppler measurements of basal cerebral arteries were performed to study the changes in cerebrovascular hemodynamics causing the aphasia in patients with acute stroke. The innsonation of the intracranial vessels was performed in 20 patients with acute stroke and aphasia in the first 7 days after the onset of the symptoms with Transcranial Doppler DWL Multi Dop XL with a 2-MHz transducer. We found in 17 of 20 patients significant changes in cerebrovascular hemodynamics in dominant hemisphere compatible with the traditional views about the localization of lesions in aphasia. TCD is indispensible in evaluation of cerebral hemodynamic disturbances causing the aphasia in stroke patients.
