Le farmacie stanno attraversando una fase di preoccupante declino e oggi si trovano nella necessità di avviare una profonda opera di rinnovamento della propria offerta di servizi, che spinge verso la ridefinizione del loro ruolo nell'ambito delle strutture che erogano servizi socio-sanitari. Inoltre, è in atto il cambamento delle attuali normative che regolano la presenza delle farmacie sul territorio.
