Sažetak
Professor Michael G. Harvey (Dr. Harvey) was extraordinary for his substantial contributions to the international management field in that he was constantly seeking new phenomena to research in the ever-changing world of global business. He was a pioneer during the great days of globalization and will not only be known for his contributions in research, but he was a teacher of great renown. Students relished his lectures, and he was legendary for his colorful and engaging style. There was a passion within him to uncover and share his understanding of phenomena in all areas that struck his interest. Not surprisingly, he attracted and mentored numerous Ph.D. students, many who went on to great success in their academic careers. Dr. Harvey worked with researchers on all levels on every continent, was cross- disciplinary (perhaps due to his extensive practitioner experience), and never refused the opportunity to collaborate with any researcher who had an idea. Dr. Harvey published over 400 papers in his illustrious career in top journals such as the Journal of World Business, Journal of International Business Studies, and Journal of Academy Marketing Science amongst others. Given his significant contribution to the Journal of World Business over a number of decades including as a Senior Editor (see Doh, Luthans, & Slocum, 2016), our aim in this editorial is to capture some of Dr. Harvey’s main contributions to the literature and provide some insights into these prescient key foundational areas: inpatriation, trailing spouse (dual career partners), and terrorism.
