Sažetak
"SPACE JOINT" is a new constructional element for synchronous fastening of crossover rods in and/or on space joint body. At the same time the space joint represents a fastening node within grid structure. On basis of invention "SPACE JOINT" published under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), with International Publication Number W 97/38229, (Čalić 1997) research of mechanical properties have been performed. this paper is a presentation of research dealing with rods fastening in the subject space joint body, which is achieved through friction force. Developed computer model for one space joint type is described. Computer modeling was performed on basis of finite element method. Special attention are pointed out regarding contact pressures, deformations, as well as stresses. Preliminary testing on small reinforced polyamide type space joint body was performed and preparation for testing procedures of different types from various materials and of differing dimensions have been performed. Application possibilities to various fields were suggested. In this paper usage of space joints in grid structures is described under name of "CROCKA" building, partitioning and adjusting system.
