Oriental deities on Roman engraved gems from the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb

Of the 400-odd Roman engraved gems from the Archaeological Museum in Zagreb, five intaglios and two glass gems bear the depictions of oriental deities Jupiter-Serapis and Isis, Jupiter Amon, Jupiter Heliopolitanus and Harpocrates. These engraved gems are stray finds from different sites in Roman Provinces of Dalmatia, Pannonia Superior, and Moesia Superior, while for two of them their finding place is unknown. Nevertheless, they expand our knowledge of oriental cults in Roman provinces mentioned above and testify to the migrations of people as well.
