Contribution to the etiological expanation of "Baskeball Knee".
Frequency of enthesopathy occurrence, respectively jumper's knee was the reason for us to start a rather wide investigation of this very entity. The investigation included 74 sportsmen, aged 13-34 years with approximate age of 24 yrs for men and 20 yrs for women. Sports experience was approxiately 13.5 yrs for men and 9.3 yrs for women, while approximate beginning of the disturbances was about 8 years from the beginning of going in for sports. Greater number of athletes(59 out of 74) with jumper's knee syndrome were treated conservatively, 7 were operated and rest did not ask for medical help. We have proved that jumper's knee is not rare, but the frequent damage in younger athletes with long sport career in certain sport disciplines (especially ones that have jumps as major sport activity)
