Comparison of behaviour at home in children with special needs and children from general population
The aim of this study was to learn more about behaviour of children with learning disabilities in the ecosystem of home and to state the differencies between the children with learning disabilities and the children from general population, based on their own responses and the responses of their parents. The sample consisted of children with learning disabilities(N 161) who attend regular elementary school and the group of children from general population(N 161) who attend regular elementary school, of both sexes, aged between 7 and 16. The Croatian adaptation of the Behavior Ratong Profile was applied. Regarding self and parent-perceived behaviour, the children with learning disabilities have significantly lower level of adaptive behaviour at home, compared to the children from general education, with the exception parent-perceived behaviour of intermediate primary school age children, which is similar in both subsamples.
