Impact of time congruity on work engagement and job performance

This paper explores the relationship between time congruity, job performance and work engagement. More precisely, we attempted to get a better understanding of time congruity as a concept and how time fit between an employee and the organization can influence job performance and work engagement. While work engagement and job performance are relatively well researched, we found that there is a lack of research in the area of time congruity in relation to work engagement and job performance which gave us an impulse to explore these three constructs further. Key aim of this paper was to examine employee's personal time preferences and how can a match (or mismatch) reflect on job performance and work engagement. The paper is based on empirical data collected among employees in Croatian hospitality firms.
