57-Fe Mössbauer spectroscopic study of nanostructured Mn-doped hematite
Mn-doped goethite nanorods has been synthesized at high pH using iron choline citrate and manganese nitrate precursors. Gradual change of goethite particles shape from rod- to star-like took place with increasing Mn-dopant concentration. Thermal treatment of precursor goethite particles at elevated temperature caused the formation of Mn- doped hematite particles of preserved morphology. Mössbauer spectroscopy showed the formation of solid solution between hematite and Mn-dopant up to 10 mol %.
