The relationship between myopia and corneal astigmatism in students of optometry in Croatia
Corneal astigmatism was measured using Oculus keratography and these results were compared with total ocular astigmatism. For measuring total astigmatism monocular cross cylinder method was used. Subjective refraction and topography were measured on 60 eyes of 30 undergraduate students. The 12 male and 18 female subjects ranged from 20 to 30 years (mean 22.64 ± 3.13). All subjects had BCVA of 1.0 or better and did not have ocular diseases. The average total astigmatism with subjective refraction was -0.78 ± 0.67 and corneal astigmatism -1.16 ± 0.84, and most of the subjects have against the rule astigmatism with both methods.
