Preseptalni orbitalni celulitis uzrokovan pasteurellom haemolyticom

The authors reported a case of a praeseptal orbital cellulitis due to Pasteurella haemolythica infection in a 45-year-old previously healthy woman. The patient failed to respond to the initial systemic therapy with Klindamycin and Gentamycin. Pasteurella haemolythica was confirmed via culture from the conjunctival swab. After systemic antibiotic therapy with Doxicyclin the patient achieved complete remission without squeal. In human pathology, infections due to Pasteurella Haemolytica are extremely rare. This is a unique case of praeseptal orbital cellulites secondary to Pasteurella haemolythica that indicated this bacterium as an ocular pathogen.
