Piezokirurgija – inovacije i modifikacije standardnih kirurških tehnika

Nowadays, piezosurgery is widely used amog oral and maxillofacial surgeons. The main advantages of this technique are precise and selective cuttings, the avoidance of thermal damage, and the preservation of the soft tissue structures. Overall, the piezoelectric surgery is superior to other methods that utilize mechanical instruments. Handling of delicate or compromised hard or soft tissue can be performed with less risk for the patients. Through the application of piezoelectric surgery, bone grafting, sinus floor elevation procedures, implant site preparation, postextraction socket preservation, alveolar ridge splitting or the transposition of the inferior alveolar nerve are very techniqually feasible. With respect of current and future innovative surgical concepts, piezoelectric surgery offers a wide range of new possibilities to perform customized and minimally invasive osteotomies.
