Perception Towards Social Supermarket Mission and Concept - Primary Research Results
In this paper, we are going to present results of the survey on general public attitudes towards social supermarkets in four Eastern European post-communist countries: Croatia, Poland, Serbia and Lithuania. The survey took place within the project “Potentials and obstacles of social supermarket developments in Central and Eastern European countries”. The purpose of the survey was to obtain knowledge and attitudes of respondents about social supermarkets and volunteering. However, in this paper we are going to scrutinize only questions regarding social supermarkets as a new form of non-profit organizations who act as a link between traditional food supply chains and people in material deprivation. The research simultaneously took place in during April and May 2018. Results of the primary research will be compared to attitudes of social supermarkets’ managers in Croatia collected via in-field interviews in period 2015-2018.
