This paper explores the importance of the concept of ‘touch’ in the formation of the Croatian and Slovene lexicon.The main goals of the paper are a) to investigate similarities and diversities of lexicalization patterns operative in the lexicalization of the concept of ‘touch’ and b) to determine what they reveal about conceptual mappings in two genetically and typologically close languages.
