Exosomes in buffalos positive for Theileria spp. and Babesia bovis
Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are small membrane- bound vesicles of growing interest in research of infectious diseases, since they are known to be released in parasitic diseases and can play roles modulating the immunity in parasite-host interaction and acting in parasite-parasite intercommunication. In this case report we present the isolation of EVs from buffaloes’ serum from buffaloes positive for Theileria spp. and Babesia bovis, and healthy buffaloes. Serum samples were collected from buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis) of the Murrah breed, and tested for Theileria spp. and Babesia bovis using PCR.
