'Impact' Revisited: (National) Science Policy
Various forms of 'impact' are discussed with special reference to national as well as EU science policy. Emphasis is put on traditional as well as societal impact in the context of SSH impact at national and EU levels. A 'holistic' approach is advocated for both types of impact, with strong reference that excellence cannot only cover standard bibliometric parameters (DORA, Leiden Manifesto, Altmetrics). The changing landscape of evaluation is an opportunity for SSH research. The contribution of the Humanities in the context of interdisciplinarity is linked to understanding 'innovation'.
traditional impact, societal impact, innovation, inter/multi/transdisciplinarity, bibliometrics, altmetrics
