How to reconstruct prehistoric lifestyles by using inter- and multidisciplinary approach? The example from Croatia
Archaeological remains, including movable and immovable objects and sites, are usually considered cultural heritage. However, human remains from archaeological contexts are often not valorised enough, although sometimes they provide crucial information in our attempt to reconstruct past societies and populations. This paper presents the ongoing research project whose main aim is to collect, study, preserve and present human skeletal remains from numerous prehistoric sites from the territory of modern- day Croatia. The project involves international researchers from different scientific fields as well as museum curators in an attempt to recover and analyse human remains within their cultural and biological contexts. Furthermore, one of its main aims is to present the results of these studies to academic and non-academic audience using modern technical solutions in an engaging and informative manner.
