Synthesis, spectroscopic characterization and cytostatic evaluation of novel 1, 2, 3-triazolyl-coumarins and bis-(coumarin-triazolyl)benzenes
Coumarins and 1, 2, 3-triazole rings have attracted considerable attention in the fields of biology, medicine and material science as components of biologicaly active compounds and ligands in fluorescent metal sensors due to their favourable photophysical properties [1]. In this work we report the synthesis, cytostatic evaluation and spectroscopic study of novel coumarin-triazole heterocycles as well as 1, 3- and 1, 4 -bis(coumarin-triazolyl)benzenes. All compounds are tested against human carcinoma cell lines. Interaction of some representatives with ct-DNA is studied by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. All compounds were evaluated as potential chemosensing molecules for pH and/or heavy metal cations as continuation of our ongoing research [2].
