DEPENDENCE OF THE DEPTH OF SURFACE ROUGHNESS UPON AVERAGE ARITHMETIC ROUGHNESS OF THE SUPERFINISHING SURFACE
Surface quality is determined with roughness and physical-mechanical properties. Roughness of the superfinishing surface has a significant influence on the exploitation characteristics of the part that carries the above-mentioned surface. These parts must have high wear resistance and small coefficient of friction. The depth of the surface roughness Rmax and average arithmetic roughness Ra are the most important characteristics that define surface roughness. In this paper effect of machining time for different tangential components of velocity on surface roughness was investigated, as well as an interdependence between Rmax and Ra for superfinishing of different materials.
