Sažetak
A comparative stress analysis of plated structures, like ship structures, subjected to bending is considered: (i) by the plane theory of elasticity, using single Fourier series (SFS) ; (ii) by the analytic method, using the theory of thin-walled beams of open cross section with influence of shear (TBTS), and (iii) by the numerical method, the finite element method (FEM). By SFS, the structure plating subjected to shear forces is analyzed ; by TBTS, plated structures as thin-walled beams of open cross section are analyzed ; by FEM, the structure is analyzed using shell elements. Both double and single plated structures are considered and the comparison of the obtained results is given.
