A Floquet-Expansion Approach for the Study of Glide-Symmetric Metasurfaces

In this paper, we propose a numerical approach to analyze glide-symmetric holey metallic metasurfaces. By exploiting the fact that a glide-symmetric structure is also periodic, a Floquet representation is chosen for the field between the two constituent layers. As a result, symmetry properties of Floquet harmonics are derived, valid for general glide-symmetric geometries. The derivation leads to formulate a mode-matching approach allowing for a fast dispersive analysis of the structure.
