Participatory Planning of Renewable Energy With a Focus on Best Practice

Findings of studies about planning RE in some European contexts suggest that the level of involvement in this domain is rather low, being mainly consultative, limited to local level decisions, and consigned to the second phase of spatial planning processes. We established a research framework for evidence-based, qualitative research of participatory planning of renewables in Europe following the concept of ‘planning culture’.
