Social Supermarkets' Profiles in Croatia
This chapter is a result of an extensive in-field research and dozens of in-depth interviews with social supermarkets’ managers in Croatia. Purpose of the chapter is to explain how each social supermarket function in terms of number of users, assortment and service offered, communication channels utilized for promotion, funding model, but also, from the aspect of cooperation with local and national government and religious associations. All interviews were conducted from July 2015 till June 2018. In some social supermarkets, there were two or more iterations of interviews. The paper is not giving any secondary literature rewiev, nor utilizes other studies, therefore it is written in narrative form merely outlining social supermarket profiles starting from Rijeka as the oldest to Pula as the youngest initiative. At the end some conclusive remarks are given.
