Sažetak
The paper discusses the possibilities of the development of software that would allow more efficient assembly planning. Systematization, upgrading and objectification of planning knowledge are considered regarding related literature and existing softwares. Despite the large research efforts in assembly planning field, and the overall advancement in CAE arena, the tool for assembly planning integrated within product development process is still not available. Proposed system follows the philosophy of Concurrent Engineering, since a lot of information required for assembly planning is known in the earliest phases of product design. The information relevant to assembly planning should be collected during all stages of the product development cycle, and synthesized during the assembly planning stage. Some assembly information need to be explicitly defined while the other can be derived from data which depict other features of the product.
