Assessment of Inkjet print fastness to artificial light on bovine leather
Print fastness to artificial light on semi processed bovine leather printed on piezoelectric UV LED Inkjet printer was tested in this study, by comparing the quality of prints obtained with UV inks on two samples of leather with natural grain and different finishing degree (with and without impregnation). Colorimetric analysis of CIEL*a*b* colorimetric values of pattern printed with CMYK LED UV Inkjet inks (in solid tone and halftones of 20% and 80%TV) before and after exposure to standard artificial light of Xenon arc lamp in exposure device over a period of 12h, 24h, 48h, 72h, 96h, 168h and 240h was carried out. It was found better print fastness of impregnated semi processed leather, as well as that by using piezoelectric UV LED Inkjet printer is possible to obtain high quality and durable prints.
