Utjecaj napona korone i dodatno premazivanje papira na reprodukciju sekundarnih tonova otisnutih na HP Indigo stroju

The technique of digital electro photographic printing is becoming more and more in use. In addition, apart from the usual commercial printing, personalized labels, cardboard packaging on demand and exclusive packaging bags are increasingly printed. In order to achieve higher color reproduction quality, the printing medium must be of high quality, as recommended by the German Institute for Standardization of Graphic Products (PSD FOGRA). Hence, the contemporary HP Indigo machines have units for further refinement of the printing substrate. By applying the corona treatment and primer, they realize an ideal surface structure for the application of the ElektroInk dye. This paper investigates the effect of the corona discharge voltage of 450V and 950V, and Michem in line primer coating case of deposit application of 0.5 g/m2 and 1 g/m2 on the quality of reproduction of demanding secondary tones, in the success of 200% tonal compression (purple blue, green, red) and compare their values with the standard FOGRA 51 values. The results show that, at all tones, the largest color change (the largest deviation compared to the standard) will occur at the 80% of RTV. In this case, by increasing the primer deposition (by changing the structure of the paper surface), a poorer quality of the print job will be achieved according to the recommended standard. By machining the machine's variation of the corona voltage, the prevalent color change of the prints will occur at a voltage of 450V. It is also most prominent in the surface coverage of 80% RTV. The optimum HP Indigo setting for achieving ideal full-tone reproduction will be: blue with a corona voltage drop of 950V - maximum primer deposition (ΔE = 0.37) ; red with a corona voltage of 450V - no primer (ΔE = 3.87) and green with corona voltage 950V - no primer (ΔE = 1.45).
