Jezični razvoj u srednjem djetinjstvu
This paper analyses how successfully the primary school pupils can turn direct speech into indirect in Croatian, e.g. how successfully can they make on complete sentence out of two independent clauses and how succsessfully can they change the person of verb forms and pronouns where required. This kind of language of language knowledge is an important part of the communication competence, since we do not usuallly quote other people's exact words, but rather use indirect speech. For this purpose six tasks were applied to the group of 48 pupils with specific language impairment and to the control group, from second to fifth grades of primary school. The group and age differences have been discussed.
