EXHAUST GAS EMISSIONS FROM TURBOCHARGED DIRECT INJECTION DIESEL ENGINE DURING THE FUEL MASS FLOW VARIATION
Exhaust gas emissions from the internal combustion engines is today in the focus of the scientific community and scientific research in general. This paper presents exhaust gas emission change for a high speed turbocharged direct injection diesel engine MAN D0826 LOH15 during the fuel mass flow variation. Analysis was based on a two measurement sets at two different engine rotational speeds. Measurements were performed with a standard diesel fuel. Observed measured emissions from diesel engine, at each observed operating point, were nitrogen oxides (NO x), unburned hydrocarbons (HC) and soot emissions. Along with the above, it was also calculated CO2 emissions for each measured point in both measurement sets according to equations from the literature. Future research of this engine will be based on experimental and numerical emissions analysis when engine uses alternative fuels or its blends with standard diesel fuel.
