The Rule of Law and Economic Growth - "a starting - point" empirical research
The purpose of the paper is to define and describe the rule of law as a comprehensive and multidimensional concept and to test its possible relations with economic growth and economic prosperity. In that order, we have offered an extensive literature review followed by an empirical research aimed to test the relation between the rule of law (measured by Rule of Law Index provided by the World Justice Project) and real GDP growth rates (on the one side) and the GDP per capita (on the other side) achieved in certain European countries, during the period from 2014 to 2016 (provided by EUROSTAT).
the rule of law ; RoL Index ; economic growth ; economic prosperity
